Postural Advice
Have you:
- Had a workstation
assessment and setup?
- Been provided with
suitable equipment?
- Had any workstation training or education?
Consider these
when sitting at your desk:
- Are your elbows close to your sides and forearms
parallel to the ground?
- Are your sitting deep into your chair with your lower
back supported by your chair?
- Is your upper back supported by your backrest?
- Are your knees level with your hips?
- Do you slump in your chair or perch on the edge?
- Do you reach to your keyboard? Think about bringing
keyboard closer so as to have your elbows by your side.
- Do you have to reach out to your mouse? Consider
bringing it closer.
- How often do you take a break from sitting? Try get up
and move every ½ hour.
- How often do you check your posture and readjust to a
better position? (Honestly?)
Think about:
- How do you sit or stand when commuting?
- Do you carry a bag on 1 shoulder?
- How do you sit when relaxing at home?
- How you position your neck and back when reading or
texting?
- Do you walk tall?
